We are excited to welcome an outstanding new therapist to our group: Ashley Gibson.
Ashley Gibson (she/her) provides individual therapy for all ages, specializing in grief counseling, navigating life transitions, and building emotional fitness. She has a particular interest in supporting female-identifying persons with ADHD, anxiety, and/or depression.
Ashley helps clients to meet daily challenges and foster long-term resilience by embracing our universal human condition and providing a safe space for clients to explore broader questions of meaning and purpose.
Ashley is a counseling intern under the supervision of Dr. Allison White Twente, and will graduate with her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William & Mary this year. She has received additional training in areas such as mindfulness, self-compassion, and creative interventions for addressing grief.
She was named a 2022 Michele Dowdy Emerging Leader by the Virginia Counselors Association for her commitment to advocacy and inclusion in mental health. She serves as a group counseling facilitator with Comfort Zone Camp, a nonprofit bereavement organization supporting grieving children and teens, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association for Specialists in Group Work (VASGW).
